public class ReadActivityTool
extends ModelAwareSystemTool<ReadActivityTool.Input>

Reads a record's activity stream — the tracking notifications, comments and emails the form view renders below the fields. Read-only; writing to the stream goes through a person, never a tool.

Tracking bodies are stored as JSON by MailMessageTrackingService. This tool parses them and returns the field deltas as structured data: a tool result of raw JSON strings would cost the model tokens to re-parse and invites it to quote the encoding back at the user.
