Specific settings for using EDI files
When processing EDI format documents with Data Capture, a few adjustments are necessary in the schema configuration. Apart from these specific settings, the overall use of Data Capture remains unchanged.
EDIFACT format: for files in EDIFACT format, additional configuration must be defined in the capture schema:
- Field designation mode: it is essential to specify whether the elements in the file should be interpreted:

By their name (e.g., documentMessageName),

Or by their standardized code (e.g., C002).
- This choice determines how the data will be extracted and mapped in the schema.
EDIFACT file example: it is also possible to upload a sample EDIFACT file at this level. This file will be automatically converted to JSON structure and displayed in the interface, allowing clear visualization of the data and facilitating the configuration of fields in the schema.
