Role management

Roles contain the smallest unit of rights within a given perimeter. You can define, for example, the following roles:

  • Sales user ;

  • Sales manager ;

  • Human resources user ;

  • Human resources manager.

In this example, the ‘sales user’ role would include all necessary access rights for a user who does nothing other than sales. This user would therefore not have access to HR functions.

You can include:

  • Authorisations that were configured beforehand.

  • Permissions per field.

  • Authorised menus.

Roles

Import roles: in any application, you can import roles. For example:

  1. Access: Application config → Apps management → Sales → click on the Sales app → click on the ‘Import roles’ button
tip

It is important to click on the application, and not on the ‘Configure’ button, in order to access the page with the ‘Import roles’ button (this does not open the module configuration page).

  1. If you wish to consult the imported/existing roles, open the Roles menu. Access: Administration → User management → Roles → search for a module, for example, Sale (Sales).

  2. Allow: click on a role in order to view what actions are allowed (“Allow” section) in a Permission window. You can also consult a condition that applies to it, what roles, users and groups it contains.

  3. Permission: clicking on an object in the Permissions list will open the ‘Permission’ pop-up window. In this window, you will be able to view all the permissions that have been activated on this object.

tip

On the ‘Permissions’ window of an object, you can activate or deactivate permissions.

  1. Permissions by field: find the permissions by field on the record of a role.

  2. Menus: when necessary, add menus on the record of a role.

info

You will always have 3 types of roles:

Manager: read, write (modify), create, delete, export.

User: read, write (modify) and create.

Read: read only.

info

Allowed actions (Read, Write, Create, Remove, Export) can be attached to a particular user or to a role.
