Configurations

Configure the Manifacturing module, Planning section

First configure the module to enable the necessary features.

Access: Application config → Apps management → Manifacturing, configure → Planification

On the Manifacturing module configuration page, open the Planification section at the bottom on the right side of the page. You will find the following fields to fill in with a Groovy expression:

  • Content color;

  • Content;

  • Header color;

  • Header content;

caution

Without these expressions, nothing will be displayed in the Schedule.

For example, Planning per machine:

Access: Manufacturing → Planning per machine → Manufacturing

  1. Calendar: click on the icon (three lines) on your left to open the calendar.

  2. Select a day on the calendar.

  3. The schedule for that day will then open. The configurations (content color/content/header color, etc.) made in the Manufacturing module will allow you to display different information. The Content field configuration allows you to define what type of information appears (title, type of information, etc.) for each operation.

Configuration by company

Access: Application config → Apps management → Manufacturing, configure → click on Company

  1. Capacity: in the Planification section, in the Capacity field, define the Capacity (Infinite/Finite).
  • Infinite: the system will not necessarily optimize the planning; you will be able to plan manufacturing orders for operations without any constraints (for example, you can plan two operations at the same time).

  • Finite: this parameter allows you to take manufacturing constraints into account and optimize production (for example, it will allow you to avoid planning two operations at the same time). In this case, one of the operations will be postponed.

Planning

Access: Manufacturing → Planning per machine → open the corresponding workshop, for example, Manufacturing

  • Plans are displayed by manufacturing workshop. Technically, in an ERP, workshops are considered as stock locations. By clicking on a stock location (e.g., Manufacturing), you will be able to display all the stock locations that contain machines.

  • If you click on the workshop itself (e.g., Manufacturing) instead of the list it contains, it will display the schedule with all the machines in that workshop.

  • Machines are sorted according to the pre-configurations made in the Machine menu. That is, when you open a machine's file, its “Stock Location” field must be set to ‘Manufacturing’ or “Main Warehouse” for example (access: Maintenance → Configuration → Machines).

Access: Manufacturing → Planning per machine → open a workshop and select one planning or double click on it in order to open the overall planning of a workshop

On the planning schedule, it is possible to navigate on several levels:

  • Hours: at the top right, navigate between hours by clicking on the arrows.

  • Day/Week/Month: navigate between days/weeks/months by clicking on the corresponding buttons at the top right.

  • Calendar: click on the three-line icon to open the calendar. Select the day. When there are days with planned manufacturing orders, it will be seen on the calendar (these days will be marked in blue). When days are not marked with a color, it means that nothing has been planned. You can navigate between several dates to view the planned production orders.

  • Operations order to plan: when you are on the schedule, you can choose your timeline. On the left, still in the calendar, select the timeline in the dedicated window. For example, select 1 hour to view all operations planned for one hour. It is also possible to display the timeline every 5 minutes, every 15 minutes, etc.

  • Today: clicking on Today button (button at the top right) opens the schedule view for the current day.

  • Filter on: you can apply a filter. In the dedicated fields, filter by product/customer/manufacturing order. For example, if you enter the number 26, manufacturing order number 26 will be displayed on the calendar. You can also display manufacturing orders by List/Schedule/All.

  1. List: Manufacturing order 26 will be displayed in the list on the left side below the calendar.

  2. Planning: manufacturing order 26 will be displayed on the planning schedule.

  3. All: manufacturing order 26 will be displayed simultaneously on the schedule and in the list.

  • On the left, you will find operations that need to be scheduled and on the right, you will find operations that have already been scheduled.

Operations can be planned manually or automatically.

If you want to do it manually:

  1. Pre-fill operations: when creating a manufacturing order (access: Manufacturing → Manufacturing Order), click on the “Pre-fill operations” button.

  2. On the manufacturing order form, the “Manufacturing Operations” table will be filled in and you will find the MO (manufacturing order) number at the top left. Save the changes.

  3. Refresh: click on the “Planning per Machine” tab and select the “Refresh” action.

  4. The operations to be scheduled will appear in the list on the left. This is useful when you want to schedule manufacturing orders manually. Drag and drop the selected operation onto the schedule.

If you want to do this automatically:

  1. Pre-fill operations: when creating a manufacturing order (access: Manufacturing → Manufacturing Order), click on the “Pre-fill operations” button.

  2. On the manufacturing order form, the “Manufacturing operations” table will be filled in and you will find the MO (manufacturing order) number in the top left corner. Save the changes.

  3. Dates: on the manufacturing order form, open the Dates tab. Enter the planned dates.

  4. The dates will automatically appear on the planning schedule.

info

Operations can always be modified manually.

It is also possible to extend or shorten the time of an operation.

tip

The planning schedule takes machine downtime into account maintenance requests, (access: Maintenance → Current Requests or My maintenance requests) and this will be shown in the planning schedule.

When you try to schedule an operation, an alert will appear.
